HOW WE MAKE THE SECRET SAUCE

We spend a lot of time perfecting what we refer to as our secret sauce. Each season we go to market looking for the unique and original, no different than Anthony Bourdain scouting his favorite farmers market for those killer ingredients, the freshest items and special spices. But our focus is on digging up and developing unique fabrics and textiles, innovative ways of weaving, knitting, cutting and sewing - the new and original that makes a sauce jump from ordinary to stand out. It basically boils down to (yes, pun intended) putting together the best inspired by our classic recipe.

THE JUMP FROM ORDINARY TO STAND OUT

There are weeks and months of reiteration to build that perfect item. For each piece we cook up there are three that don't make it into the collection. This is because we design and weave our own fabric. We often start with a vintage reference. We comb through everything from European and Japanese vintage shops to clothing archives turning unique fabric finds into handsome, classic garments. Then we modernize them with the latest fabrics and the best fit. We design our own prints and plaids, and pick off beat colors. Everything is original. Nothing is off the shelf.
